Second double page spread analysis

The second double page spread I have chosen is one from a heavy rock magazine called Kerrang! The spread features the band My Chemical Romance 'MCR' and the article focuses on the band getting back into the studio and working on new music. The typical genre of music Kerrang! Represents is heavy rock/metal and their choice is music doesn't vary as it just focuses on that genre of music and it's what their fans want. It's a small article which focuses on informing those Kerrang! Readers who don't know MCR about their music and latest news, the double page spread is a feature on a band but it's also advertising the band as they concentrate on releasing new music. The piece is written as very readable language which consists of simple, everyday words and the odd humor inserted to give the band a positive feel for fans and viewers. The three key colour themes used on the double page spread are black, white and red- the colours of which represent the magazine and the actual band itself. The writing font used throughout is sans serif; a simple font technique which is easy and bold for all readers to read and effective as it catches the eye of even those readers who may not like or have heard of MCR. Most of the double page spread is taken up with images of the band which shows their image as a band to readers, this can help the band as it expresses their music through the way they look for readers.
