first double spread analysis
This double spread magazine feature focuses on an artist feature on Shakira. The magazine article I have chosen is from Q magazine, which as a magazine focuses on music, fashion and lifestyle. Their music style varies as they are open minded to different music taste but focus more on the not so common, mainstream artists which is rare in this issue as they are focusing on Shakira.
The magazine takes on a relaxed approach to their readers as they know the common reader won't focus on the effect the writing has on them, but on the bands/artists that are featured in the magazine. The value of having a double page spread of Shakira is to inform their readers of different type of artists in the industry who are successful and to advertise new music genre's compared to their normal article stars. The language used when writing the magazine tends to take on an informal approach, using humor and witty language to grab the attention of their devoted readers. The colour schemes vary on this two page spread from black, red, pink and blue. The common colour the magazine is represented by is red and they also use a lot of black; being an easy colour to read. Due to the female artist Shakira featuring on the article the magazine has used pink and a light blue to create a more feminine effect.
